Details

I chased on the way home from the previous day's bust in Nebraska. I wasn't expecting to catch a tornado due to messy storm modes caused by a lack of directional shear. Lots of storms were forecast, however, so a couple tornadoes were expected somewhere along the line.

Brief Supercell
6 miles W of Eagleville, MO
4:28 PM
I diverted from my route home along highway 36 as some discrete storms went up to my north. One of the storms split. The right split's southeast motion meant the storm relative directional shear would be much more favorable. I got on the storm's updraft base noting some brief supercell structure with a scuddy wall cloud. The southeast motion also took the storm into the capped air in the warm sector, however, where the storm quickly died. I called the chase and headed for home.

Conclusion

A bust chase, but watching the brief supercell structure evolve on the right split was neat to see.
