Details
I took the family out to see the April 8, 2024 total solar eclipse. We set up near Lawrenceville, IL. Traffic was heavy, but moving on the way into the area as there were plentiful side roads to utilize. We avoided Lawrenceville itself and picked a side road out in the fields.
Conclusion
A successful viewing of the eclipse with only minimal cirrus cloud cover, and no issues with crowds or traffic.
Lessons Learned
- I'd say be more in the moment for totality, rather than in the camera as it goes so fast. However, I'm also super thankful for the photos and videos I do have, even though they aren't amazing.
